  1. Enter your letters in "Your letters". Use ? as wildcard (can be any letter).
  2. Describe the board position in "On board (pattern)". Here you describe how the word should fit into what's already on the board.
  3. Fine-tune length and sorting if you want fewer, more precise suggestions, then click "Find words".

What is a pattern?

A pattern is a small "template" that describes how the word should be positioned on the board. You combine fixed letters with wildcard characters:

  • A, GE – letters already on the board
  • . – exactly one any letter
  • * – 0 or more any letters (rest of the word)

Pattern examples

  • M* β†’ words starting with M
    Examples: MAKE, MORE, MORNING
Used when you can place the word like this: M _ _ _
  • *D β†’ words ending with D
    Examples: WORD, SEND, FIND
    Used when there's a D at the end: _ _ _ D
  • M..GE* β†’ M + 2 letters + GE + optional extra
    Examples: MANAGE, MANGER
    The board looks like: M _ _ G E _
  • ..A* β†’ at least 3 letters, where the 3rd is A
    Examples: BOARD, TRADE
    The board looks like: _ _ A _ _ _

Tip: The more precise your pattern is, the shorter and more useful the list of suggestions will be.
