Frequently Asked Questions
Is it a real app, or just a bookmark?
It's a Progressive Web App (PWA) – a modern web app that installs like a real app. It can run offline, appears in the app list, and behaves like a native app. PWAs are used by major services like Twitter, Spotify and Google Maps.
Does the app take up much space on my device?
No – the app is under 1 MB (smaller than most images). The word list (approx. 400,000 words) is cached locally, but only takes up around 3-4 MB.
Can I use the app without internet?
Yes – after the first visit, all necessary files are stored locally. You can use the app 100% offline, even in airplane mode.
How does the app update itself?
The app automatically checks for updates when you have internet connection. If there's a new version, it downloads in the background and activates next time you open the app.
How do I uninstall the app?
Mac/Windows: Right-click the app icon and select "Uninstall" or "Remove".
iOS: Press and hold the app icon → select "Remove App".
Android: Long press the app icon → select "Uninstall".
